So you want to adjust the size of your basement but don’t know where to start? We are here to help. The good news is that there are many ways to expand living space in your basement and put it to use. From complete basement underpinning to some additions, our company is ready to help you make your basement addition project come to reality.

Underpinning and Bench Footing For Your Basement
By far, the two most popular methods of basement additions are underpinning and bench(ledge) footing. Underpinning(also known as full basement lowering) is a basement floor lowering method with which the builders extend the height of your basement through the removal and installation of new footings as well as rebuilding parts of the walls around the floor. Underpinning is typically more expensive but takes more time, it allows builders to fix the existing foundation issues and provide complete renovation of the sewage system and additional waterproofing.
The other method is called bench footing in which the builders build a new ledge around and inside the perimeter of existing walls and lower the basement foundation within the benched space. No change is made to walls or existing foundations. This method is considerably less expensive and takes less time than underpinning, however, since some of the basement floor is left to the bench, it preserves less of the space.
Walkout Basement Construction
One way to make your basement even more convenient is to construct an entrance directly into it. This is usually done for renting purposes as it allows a private pathway for tenants to enter their basement unit.
Our team at BU can help you make a safe entrance into your basement with full consideration, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Drain and Waterline Services
At BU we also provide additional services that may help your house such as waterline and drain replacement. We have over 10 years of experience changing and installing waterline systems. Whether you feel like there is a leak or a water supply is off, we can excavate, find an issue(usually a leak, corrosion or blockage) and provide a long-lasting fix.
Similar to the waterline, our company offers professional drain services. If you think your drain is clogged or needs to be repaired, we are here to help. Usually, an issue can be a stubborn clog or sometimes sewer lines are cracked and need to be replaced/repaired. No matter the issue, our team uses advanced tools and industry experience to solve your problem.
